Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini says the title race is not over

Roberto Mancini says Manchester City are still in with a chance of retaining their Premier League title – if Sergio Aguero plays like he did against Leeds United in yesterday’s FA Cup clash.

The Italian gave a downbeat interview following last weekend’s defeat to Southampton in which he all but conceded the title to rivals Manchester United. But the display of his Argentine star in the 4-0 win over Leeds appeared to have given Mancini renewed optimism.

He said: “I hope that Sergio will be like this from now until the end [of the season] because if Sergio will be like this, and our strikers continue to score a lot of goals from now until the end I think that the Championship is not finished.”
