Last Friday saw the final of the Saudi Crown Prince Cup – Saudi Arabia’s equivalent of the the FA Cup – being played between bitter rivals Al Hilal and Al Nasr.

The match went to penalties, at which point Al Nasr goalkeeper Abdallah Al Enizi decided to unleash just about any form of gamesmanship that sprang to mind.

Ahead of Al Hilal’s first spot-kick, Al Enizi went to one of his post and violently shook the frame of the goal before getting into position. Alas, his plan didn’t work.

For the second kick, the keeper walks up to the penalty taker and flicks the ball of the spot while giving his opponent a bit of verbal. This plan does work and he saves the penalty.

In fact, it worked so well that he tries to do the same thing again. Again, he goes for a chat before flicking the ball away and making the penalty taker walk to retrieve it. But the plan didn’t work so well second time around.

After a telling off from the ref and being put in a pretty tricky situation by his own penalty takers, Al Enizi ends his fun and games as Al Hilal converted their fourth penalty to win the shootout.

If you’re wondering where the inspiration for the antics might have come from, Al Enizi’s goalkeeping coach is one Rene Higuita!

Thanks to Mohammed Alsadoon for the tip.
