If your initials are RVP, be careful when choosing your Twitter handle

Whilst Manchester United were left joyous after Robin Van Persie’s hat-trick made him the Premier League’s top scorer and won his side the title, one Indian telecommunications consultant wasn’t quite as enamoured.

For Ravi Visvesvara Prasad, it just meant another busy night on social media wading through thousands of tweets offering him congratulations, simply because his Twitter name is @RVP.

In a glorious victory for irony, Ravi tweeted for people to stop involving him in their Van Persie tweets, only to receive over 10,000 retweets and a host of cheeky replies.

Such is life and vacuous fame, Prasad now has 1,300 followers.
