Arsenal, Man City and Spurs target Eduardo Salvio given £34m price tag by Benfica
Benfica have told Eduardo Salvio’s various Premier League suitors that a bid of £34m will be needed to sign him.
Arsenal have reportedly joined Manchester City and Spurs in the race for the 23-year-old winger.
But Benfica are hoping to dampen the interest in the Argentina international by giving him a whopping asking price.
The Daily Express claims that the Lisbon side do not need to sell and have taken the pre-emptive measure in order to scare off the frugal north London clubs in particular.
Salvio’s agent, Agustin Jimenez, seems to think a move could happen, though.
Last month, he told O Jogo: “At the moment, his future is undecided.
“We need to speak with Benfica and to discuss the options.
“There is interest out there this summer from clubs in England and Italy and I believe they have had contact with Benfica.
“After a big season it is normal that significant clubs will be interested. Now the decision is in the hands of Benfica. Salvio is content at the club but he is open to the possibility of a move.”
