Chelsea youngster Josh McEachran set for Real Sociedad move
Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran is set for an unlikely loan move to Spanish side Real Sociedad.
The 20-year-old has long been touted as the future of the Blues’ engine room, but is yet to stamp his authority on the first-team. After spending last season on loan in the Championship at Middlesbrough, he could be playing his football in La Liga this season.
Basque newspaper Noticias de Gipuzkoa reports that Sociedad have made McEachran their top target after missing out on first choice, Barcelona’s Jonathan Dos Santos.
They need to bolster their midfield after losing Asier Illarramendi to Real Madrid.
McEachran has previously indicated that he is quite happy to go out on loan again if Jose Mourinho wants him to get more first-team experience.
Earlier this summer McEachran told Sky Sports: “I’m a Chelsea player and my dream as a kid was to play for Chelsea, so I want to play for them this season.
“But if the boss wants me to go out on loan I’ll have to listen to him and go out. It’s down to him.
“He said he would speak to me while we were in Asia so I’ll wait for then. Hopefully it would be to a Premier League team, but I wouldn’t mind going to a Championship team either.”
How about Spain, Josh?
