Video: Juventus 1-1 Everton (5-6 on penalties)
Everton beat Italian giants Juventus on penalties after a 1-1 draw in their International Champions Cup opener in San Francisco.
Kevin Mirallas gave the Toffees the lead on the hour mark, but Kwadwo Asamoah levelled 10 minutes from time.
The match went to spot-kicks.
Leon Osman missed the first penalty of the shootout. All the other takers scored until Andrea Pirlo – being uncharacteristically uncool – missed what would have been the winning penalty.
That took the shootout into sudden-death. Seamus Coleman converted for the Blues, before keeper Tim Howard made himself the hero by saving Federico Peluso’s kick.
