Spurs and Southampton go head-to-head for Pablo Osvaldo
Tottenham and Southampton are battling for the £15m signing of Roma star Pablo Osvaldo.
The Saints have had an offer accepted, according to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, while The Sun claims that Spurs are preparing to launch a bid at the same level.
Fulham and Portuguese side Benfica have also been linked with a move for Osvaldo.
Reports suggest the Argentinian-born Italy international has been offered a four-year deal to move to St Mary’s but he would prefer a sign for a London club.
The Sun reckons Spurs are close to announcing the signing of the 27-year-old striker.
Manager Andre Villas Boas yesterday indicated that he was expecting to announce new signings soon.
