Arsenal interested in Man City’s Micah Richards
Arsenal are being linked with a move for Manchester City right-back Micah Richards.
The Gunners are light in defence and England international Richards is also comfortable at centre-back.
The Daily Mirror reports that Arsenal have might tentative enquiries to City about Richards’ availability.
Arsenal will now sit tight to see how much involvement Richards has in City’s opening games. If he seems destined for another season on the fringes under new manager Manuel Pellegrini then they could move for the 25-year-old before transfer deadline day.
A potential sticking point is City’s own defensive problems. Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott are currently the club’s only fit senior centre-backs.
However, Richards, who has two years left to run on his current contract, is yet to sign the new deal he has been offered.
