Man Utd striker Javier Hernandez rejects Valencia move, agent claims
The agent of Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez says his client has rejected the chance to join Spanish side Valencia.
The Mexican forward found himself on the fringes at Old Trafford last season but has turned down a move to La Liga in a bid to win a regular place in David Moyes’ starting line-up, according to reports in his homeland.
Newspaper El Universal quotes Chicharito’s agent Eduardo Hernandez as saying: “Valencia had a real interest. I had the opportunity to talk to the sporting director but Javier wants to consolidate at Manchester United and that is the challenge.
“It’s not about money, we can’t even touch on that. There is only one issue with Javier, he wants to play and be a starter with United.
“He knows he is in a very competitive team and that, each day, he has to fight to play, from the dressing room to the training pitch, but he’s not scared. He says he’s more motivated than ever.”
The 25-year-old missed United’s Premier League opener against Swansea with a knee injury but is due to return to full training this week.
