Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he is confident of making signings before the transfer window closes on Monday.
But the Frenchman said he will not be making panic buys.
Speaking at his press conference ahead of Sunday’s north London derby, he said: “I am confident [of bringing players in]. We will not panic buy, that is for sure.”
Wenger also took another pop at the prices he is being quoted for transfer targets, which won’t instil Gooners with great faith that deals will be done.
He said: “I don’t think that prices are linked with [the] quality of players.”
Talking of prices for quality players, Wenger also said it is now unlikely that Nicklas Bendtner will be shipped out before the transfer deadline.
He said: “The chance for him to leave now is very small.”
