Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger aiming for “one or two super signings”
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he is hoping to add “super players” to his squad on transfer deadline day.
The Gunners have reportedly bid £42.5m for Real Madrid star Mesut Ozil, and he seems likely to be one of the big-name players Wenger is after.
Speaking after yesterday’s north London derby win over Tottenham, Wenger said: “I am not against spending money but I want to add super quality to our squad or not. That’s why I am not against spending money.
“Tottenham got a lot of money for Bale, they have to invest it, I can understand that. But the need is different for us.
“We need one or two super players and we will try to add that. But 24 hours, maybe we can surprise you, maybe not.”
