Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: ‘Nicklas Bendtner can be unstoppable’
Nicklas Bendtner can be “an unstoppable striker” according to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
And we don’t think he means that the hefty Danish star would be like a freight train once he gets up to speed.
Wenger was speaking ahead of the Denmark international’s return to the Gunners first-team for tonight’s Capital One Cup clash with West Brom. And it sounds like he thinks Bendtner can live up to his self-publicised hype.
He told the Arsenal website: “He had nearly gone somewhere else [in August] and in the end he stayed because it didn’t work out and we needed him here.
“Now he can convince everybody. We are open-minded, we believe in his qualities. I personally believe in his qualities. It’s just down to attitude and fighting [spirit]. When he has that, Nicklas can be an unstoppable striker. He gets his chance. Our job is about that. Take your chance.
