Arsenal tracking Austrian youngster Martin Hinteregger

Arsenal and Juventus are among the teams keeping tabs on Red Bull Salzburg’s Martin Hinteregger.

The young defender, comfortable at left-back or centre-back, has featured in nine league games already this season for table-topping Salzburg and is not a fixture in the first-team.

The 21-year-old has caught the eye of some of Europe’s top clubs with his performances. But he is tied down on a long-term contract until 2018.

The Gunners and Juve are believed to be at the front of the queue to sign Austria youth international.

The two clubs are also vying for FC Basel defender Fabian Scharr. Time will tell if its a case of great scouting networks thinking alike.
