Chelsea midfielder Marco Van Ginkel appears to be keeping his spirits up after an anterior cruciate ligament injury ruled him out for the rest of the season.
Everybody’s favourite footballing Justin Bieber lookalike was still smiling and giving the thumbs up in a photo posted to his official Instagram account.
The 20-year-old wrote: “Just had my operation, but keep smiling and I will come back. Never give up and be strong.”
Dutch international Van Ginkel will be out for at least six months with the injury, which was sustained when he twisted it awkwardly in Tuesday’s Capital One Cup tie at Swindon.
A scan on Wednesday confirmed the seriousness of the injury and he underwent surgery yesterday.
