Manchester United to finally bid for gossip column favourite Ezequiel Garay
Manchester United could be ready move for Benfica centre-back Ezequiel Garay at last.
The 26-year-old has been scouted by the champions for years, which means he has been a regular name in the Premier League rumour mill over the last few seasons.
Now, David Moyes is set to bring the player long considered to be a long-term replacement for Rio Ferdinand to Old Trafford.
Reports in Portugal suggest United will start the bidding at £15m when the January transfer window opens. Benfica are likely to hold out for a fee closer to £20m.
Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera and Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala are also targets as Moyes seeks to strengthen perceived weaknesses in his squad.
