Wales call-up Liverpool’s ‘new Gareth Bale’
Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson has been called up for Wales’ squad to face Macedonia tomorrow despite the fact he is aged just 16.
Dubbed ‘the new Gareth Bale’, Wilson is the beneficiary from the ridiculous number of withdrawals from Chris Coleman’s squad. Some 10 players have withdrawn from the original squad forcing Coleman to bring the pacy left-footed winger into his squad.
A statement from the Football Association of Wales said: “Liverpool youngster, 16 year old Harry Wilson, has also been added to the squad for the two FIFA 2014 World Cup Qualifiers.
“Harry recently excelled for the Wales Under 17 side in their matches against Hungary, Scotland and Slovenia.”
If he plays on Friday, Wilson will break Bale’s record and become the youngest player to represent Wales by 112 days.
