Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs target Jackson Martinez hints he’s ready to quit Porto
In-demand Porto striker Jackson Martinez has indicated that he is ready to quit the club to make a big transfer everywhere.
The Colombia international is known to be on the wish-lists of a number of Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham, according to reports in the Daily Star.
Now aged 27, Martinez has made it clear that he wants to move to a top club before the chance passes him by.
He said: “The years are passing and one day I hope to make a good transfer.
“It clearly depends on Porto, a club that sells its players so well. Leaving or staying depends on Porto but I will only go if there is something concrete.”
Martinez only joined the Portuguese side from Chiapas last season, but he bagged 26 goals in 20 starts in his debut campaign.
That form alerted scouts at clubs across Europe. Having started the new season with seven goals in six league games, the bids are likely to start arriving in January.
Tottenham’s lack of goals has been a major concern for Andre Villas Boas, while Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has seen summer signing Iago Aspas struggle to settle in the Premier League.
Jose Mourinho is known to be dissatisfied with his striking options at Chelsea and would like to move for Martinez if he can offload Demba Ba.
