Torino star Alessio Cerci has suggested that he is ready to move to a Champions League club in the January transfer window.

Manchester United and Arsenal have been strongly linked with bids for the £16m-rated forward, who can play as a winger or second striker.

Now Cerci has been talking up the chances of getting some Champions League fooball under his belt ahead of next summer’s World Cup.

The bad news for the Premier League teams is that it sounds like the big Italian clubs are just as enticing to the 26-year-old as those still competing in the Champions League.

He told TMW: “I feel ready for the Champions League – I have matured.

“I think it’s the right time to make the leap. I want to get there, even before the World Cup. Roma? It’s no secret to go back to where I grew up. Now it’s a dream, but also it’s a goal to go to Juventus.”

Cerci came through the ranks at Roma before arriving in Turin via Fiorenina.

He has nine caps for Italy and is keen to build on an excellent start to the season to boost his chances of making Italy’s World Cup squad.
