Tottenham’s players have rejected rumours that Tim Sherwood punched a member of the team following the 4-0 defeat at Liverpool yesterday.
Speculation on social media sites last night suggested that the Spurs boss would be sacked after a dressing room altercation with one of his players.
But the rumours are completely untrue, according to Aaron Lennon and Roberto Soldado.
Winger Lennon said: “Today was not good enough and we let everyone down, but the rumours about the boss hitting someone are b*llocks, crazy how powerful Twitter is.”
And Spanish striker Soldado backed up Lennon’s account.
The former Valencia man wrote: “Bad game today and our options to reach Champions League decrease! It is time now, more than ever, to fight together.
“Rumors do not benefit at all, and everything that has been said is absolutely false, COYS!”
