Wesley Sneijder admits Man Utd link-up with Louis Van Gaal would be tempting
Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder admits he would find it hard to turn down the chance to join his Netherlands boss Louis Van Gaal at Manchester United this summer.
The 30-year-old was widely linked with United in 2011 but has since gone off their radar.
But Van Gaal, who continues to pick him for the national team, rates him highly, prompting rumours of renewed interest from United.
Sneijder, formerly of Real Madrid and Inter Milan, has admitted the move would appeal – and hinted that United will have their pick of his compatriots.
He said: “He trains his players very hard and always expects the highest standards.
“I am happy at Galatasaray. I have established myself at the club and have settled in.
“However, if Van Gaal were make me an offer I would have to at least consider it.
“Nobody from the Netherlands can simply reject Van Gaal.
“In the Netherlands Van Gaal is something like the head teacher of a school.
“Not everyone is lucky enough to get into his good books.”
