Hamburg dismiss QPR approach for ex-Spurs star Rafael Van der Vart
Hamburg have told QPR they have no chance of landing ex-Tottenham Hotspur star Rafael Van der Vaart.
The former Spurs playmaker has been linked his ex-boss Harry Redknapp, who highly rates the player and wants to bring him to Loftus Road.
The 31-year-old made a massive impact at White Hart Lane with some well taken and important goals during his two year stint at the club that saw them light up the Champions League.
But any deal looks unlikely as Hamburg chairman, Dietmar Beiersdorfer, has now ruled against the possibility of the Dutchman leaving.
“Rafa is an exceptional player. I’m counting on Rafa. He’s making a good impression,” Beiersdorfer told Bild. “He’s worked a lot on himself and he’s now 100 per cent fit in his body and his mind.”
“In this shape, he’s irreplaceable. It would be very hard for us to do without him.”
The Dutchman missed this summer’s World Cup with injury.
