Manchester United and Liverpool will face a battle from Real Madrid to land German World Cup winner Christoph Kramer, according to reports.

The midfielder, who is currently on loan at Borussia Moenchengladbach, has been linked with a Premier League switch in January after Liverpool and United missed out on the 23-year-old before the transfer window shut last week.

Kramer, who started the World Cup final, is currently half way through a two-year loan deal at Moenchengladbach from Bayer Leverkusen.

But after impressing for Germany and Moenchengladbach could be on his way out of the club next summer with Real Madrid preparing to make a £12m offer, the Express reports.

Boss Carlo Ancelotti wants to partner him with compatriot Toni Kroos at the base of his midfield next season and will hope to convince the player to snub the Premier League.

Kramer replaced the injured Sami Khedira in Germany’s World Cup final starting line-up but lasted just 32 minutes after suffering with concussion.
