Spurs defender Federico Fazio hits back at Emmanuel Adebayor
Tottenham defender Ferderico Fazio has hit back at Emmanuel Adebayor after the striker claimed the side are struggling due to a lack of confidence.
The Togo forward claimed players were suffering to such an extent that nobody wanted the ball with the toxic atmosphere at White Hart Lane spilling over onto the pitch.
But Fazio disagrees with his team-mates’ assessment and says the solution is gelling the players.
“No, I think this (confidence) is not the problem. We need to play like a team on the pitch,” Fazio said. “I think that we have very good players, good enough to be higher in the Premier League.
“There have only been 10 or 11 matches. We need to improve some things but I think we will stay in the top positions of the Premier League.”
Fazio has made eight appearances in all competitions for Tottenham following his £7m move to White Hart Lane from Europa League winners Sevilla.
