Tim Sherwood: Spurs would take my win percentage now
Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has made a bitter dig at the club’s current plight by saying they “would take my win percentage now”.
The 45-year-old was relieved off his duties after guiding Spurs to sixth place in the Premier League with Mauricio Pochettino replacing him after leaving Southampton.
But despite impressing at the Saints, the Argentine boss has found life tough at White Hart Lane as he struggles to get the players to carry out his instructions.
Pochettino has a win percentage of just 33 in the Premier League while Sherwood had a ratio of 59 – the highest in the club’s history.
And the former Blackburn and Spurs player could not help pointing this out. “I reckon Spurs would take my win percentage now,” Sherwood told The Sun.
Sherwood then went on to take full credit for the development of youngsters like Harry Kane. “Finding young talent and recruiting them is one thing but it’s then about being brave and giving them the opportunity,” he said.
“Harry Kane is a good example. I threw him into the team and he scored goals. Some of these lads can do that as well as a player that has been imported from abroad.”
