Stubborn Arsene Wenger is not the man to fix Arsenal’s problems, according to Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier.

The Gunners boss has come under mounting pressure to sign another centre-back and a holding midfielder to address the side’s poor start to the new season.

The club’s larger shareholder, Alisher Usmanov, even questioned the French boss with him also claiming the 65-year-old does not learn from his mistakes.

Le Tissier agrees and believes Wenger will dig his heels in and fail to rectify problem areas in the side in January.

“I imagine he will be stubborn again,” Le Tissier told The Express. “He doesn’t like being told what he needs.

“The more people tell him what he needs, the more stubborn he gets and he feels inclined to do things his own way. But that is his prerogative.

“He is the manager and until that changes one way or another, he will stay just the same.”

Arsenal can qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League with victory against Dortmund tonight.
