Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere: ‘Tackle from Man Utd’s Paddy McNair would’ve broken most people’s ankles’
We all know the media like to talk nonsense, not all of them, but most! And most of it I can take…however after being shown an article in @DailyMirror saying I have 'Worlds most Brittle ankles'. @bigrichinnes clearly doesn't know what 'brittle' means, as this picture clearly shows' most people/players would have broken their ankle if someone tackled them like this. Luckily I have 'loose joints', not brittle' and only damaged ligaments. #Fool #GetTheFacts
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has hit back at suggestions he has “brittle ankles”, saying the tackle from Manchester United’s Paddy McNair that has ruled him out for three months with ligament damage would have left most people with a broken ankle.
The England international posted a photo of his ankle bent the wrong way as a result of McNair’s challenge to illustrate his point.
Wilshere was responding to media claims that his latest absence was due to the “brittle ankles” that kept him out for all of the 2011/12 season.
But the Gunners star, aged 22, took to Instagram to dispute that claim.
He wrote: “We all know the media like to talk nonsense, not all of them, but most! And most of it I can take… however after being shown an article in the Daily Mirror saying I have ‘world’s most brittle ankles’.
