The Ivory Coast FA have been premature in announcing Wilfried Bony’s deal to join Manchester City from Swansea, according to reports.
Sky Sports claim that contrary to the African federation’s tweet that the transfer has gone through there is actually still work to be done.
The two clubs have been locked in discussions for a week now – with the Welsh outfit thought to be holding out for no less than £30m.
Bony, aged 26, joined Swansea from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem for £12m in 2013 and finished last season with 20 Premier League goals.
He is currently away on Africa Cup of Nations duty but City expect to be able to complete the deal soon.
The deal involves the Swans receiving £25m cash upfront, with City paying a further £5m in performance-related add-ons.
