Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi has revealed he is “honoured” to be linked with moves to Manchester United and Liverpool.

The Argentina international has long been linked with a transfer away from San Siro and, despite his excellent recent form, that talk has only increased after a recent fall-out with Inter supporters.

That sparked a flurry of new transfer rumours, with United, Liverpool and Chelsea all touted as being keen to land the 21-year-old.

Icardi isn’t sure which of those rumours are true and which are newspaper talk, but would be more than happy to learn of genuine interest from any of those clubs.

He told the Calcio Mercato website: “I’m not interested in rumours, what counts is winning with Inter. If the ones about United, Chelsea and Liverpool were real, I would be honoured, because they are big clubs, but I’m already in a great team where I can win something important.”

Icardi started his career at Vecindario in Gran Canaria having left Argentina for the Canary Islands at the age of six. He joined Barcelona in 2008, but left to join Sampdoria in January 2011 in what was a initially a loan move.

Inter signed him at the start of the 2013/14 season. He currently has 22 goals in 44 Serie A games.
