Portugal U21 stars scouted by Man Utd
Manchester United sent a scout to watch last night’s game between Portugal Under-21s and Denmark Under-21s, according to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.
The Red Devils sent a representative to keep tabs on the game, which ended in a 0-0 draw, with a couple of reported transfer targets in action for the hosts at the Estádio Municipal da Marinha Grande.
Sporting Lisbon starlet Carlos Mane, dubbed the new Cristiano Ronaldo, has been on United’s radar since 2013.
The winger, who can also play as a striker, turned 21 earlier this month.
Another possible target of the scouting mission was Braga winger Rafa Silva.
United scouts have been spotted at Braga games recently and their 21-year-old wideman was touted as a possible reason for their visits.
He came off the bench as a 65th-minute substitute in last night’s game.
Everton, Liverpool and Sunderland were the other Premier League sides who sent scouts to the game.
