Real Madrid have 3 days to sign Javier Hernandez from Man Utd for €20m
Real Madrid must decide whether to finalise a €20m deal to sign Javier Hernandez from Manchester United within the next three days, according to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial.
The Mexico international has been on a season-long loan at the Bernabeu and Real reportedly have until April 30 to take up a €20m option to convert the loan into a permanent transfer.
Until the last week, that looked like a very easy decision for the Real hierarchy. The 26-year-old was struggling to get a game for Carlo Ancelotti’s side and had hardly made an impression all season.
But he scored the winning goal against neighbours Atletico Madrid in last Wednesday night’s Champions League quarter-final and followed that up with two goals against Celta Vigo in a La Liga game at the weekend.
Suddenly, €20m doesn’t seem like such bad business and Real have a decision on their hands.
The fact that Hernandez would be available on a free transfer in 12 months might make the agreed fee still seem a little bit over the odds.
