Serie A outfit prepared to take Liverpool outcast Mario Balotelli
Lazio are prepared to take Liverpool outcast Mario Balotelli on loan – as long as the Reds contribute to his wages.
Tuttosport say the Serie A side are prepared to offer the striker a reprieve after his Anfield career appeared over with Brendan Rodger’s decision to drop him from his squad to go to Finland.
The former Manchester City man earns £100,000 a week, which Lazio cannot afford, and want Liverpool to meet a significant amount of that. The report does not say how much, though.
Liverpool are hoping for a permanent move, however, and want to recoup as much of the £16m they paid for the striker last summer but accept they will do well to get even half of what they paid.
The former Milan forward’s future has been in the balance following the signings of Danny Ings and Christian Benteke adding to the already crowded number of front men that are at the club.
But the latest blow of being left out of the squad has effectively signalled Rodgers’ intentions that Balotelli has no future at the club.
He suffered a poor debut campaign with the Reds after only managing one Premier League goal, while netting just four in total in a disappointing return following his move from Milan last summer for £16m.
Inter Milan have been linked with a move for him but are now said to have no interest in taking back their former player now.
