Ex-Man Utd star Cristiano Ronaldo admits he doesn’t know if he will be at Real Madrid next year
Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has left the door open for a potential return to Manchester United by admitting he doesn’t know if he will still be at the Bernabeu next year.
The 30-year-old insists he is happy in Madrid and that he has good relationships with the club’s hierarchy and coaching staff – something that has come under close scrutiny in recent times – but was unwilling to say he will definitely still be playing for Los Blancos next season.
While he initially said his future is at Madrid, he goes on to point out that he doesn’t know the future.
According to the Daily Star, Ronaldo said: “My future is at Madrid. I am good here.
“I want to win things here and I feel good, but I have said millions of times that nobody can tell what will happen in the future. We will see what happens.
“I have a good relationship with everyone — the president, coaches, workers. The relationships are good because I am a professional.
“Nobody knows what will happen next year.
“I want to win things at Madrid as I think that this club has the potential to win things, but I do not know the future.”
He left Old Trafford to sign for Madrid for a then world record £80m fee in 2009. Since then he has frequently been linked with a return to United, with French champions Paris Saint-Germain also rumoured to be interested in landing the Ballon D’Or holder.
