Former Liverpool star Steve McManaman says his old side’s fringe players are not good enough.
Speaking after last night’s 1-1 draw with Swiss side Sion in a Europa League game at Anfield, McManaman indicated that he doesn’t believe the Reds can put out a team of sufficient quality when they don’t field their first-choice XI.
But former Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp, who was working alongside McManaman as a BT Sport pundit for last night’s game, felt the team held by Sion contained so many regulars that they couldn’t be considered fringe players.
