Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is not available for this weekend’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
The England international, aged 24, played for the Gunners’ under-21 side at Swansea City yesterday.
He played for 90 minutes and came through the match unscathed, but has been ruled out of the game against the Eagles by manager Arsene Wenger.
The Frenchman says he wants Wilshere to play one more under-21 game before he considers him for first team selection.
He told his pre-match press conference: “He needs one more game. I will see after that how he compares to the other competitors.”
The Gunners’ next under-21 match is against West Bromwich Albion on Monday evening, so Wilshere could then be in consideration for the Premier League against the Baggies on Thursday evening.
