Daley Blind has been made available for transfer by new Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho – and Barcelona are interested in signing him, according to Catalan newspaper Sport.

Mourinho has reportedly decided that Blind, plus Juan Mata and Memphis Depay, will be surplus to requirements at Old Trafford under his watch.

But Spanish champions Barca are said to see the former Ajax academy player as the solution to their problems at centre-back. The versatile Netherlands international, aged 27, has mainly played in midfield but spent all of last season as a first-choice centre-back under Louis van Gaal.

Blind’s representative Rob Jansen is offering his client to various teams, including Barca, having been made aware that he does not have a future at United under Mourinho, the article claims.

He joined United from Ajax in a £13.8m deal in the summer 2014 transfer window.

It remains to be seen whether the injury he suffered in Netherlands training this week would delay any transfer.
