Crystal Palace agree £27m deal for Liverpool’s Christian Benteke
Crystal Palace have reached an agreement to sign Liverpool striker Christian Benteke for an initial £27m fee, according to the BBC.
The Eagles have been strongly linked with the former Aston Villa man throughout the current transfer window and appear to be on the verge of getting their man.
Belgium international Benteke, aged 25, is reportedly travelling to London to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms with Palace.
Liverpool paid £32.5m to sign Benteke from Villa in July 2015. He scored 10 goals in 42 games in all competitions in his debut season at Anfield, but struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under Brendan Rodgers and then current boss Jurgen Klopp.
Palace offered a deal worth £23m, plus £7m in potential add-ons, to the Reds earlier this week, but that was rejected.
But they returned with an offer of an initial £27m, with £3m in add-ons, which has now been accepted.
