Roman Abramovich attends Chelsea training after defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich attended training yesterday in the wake of back-to-back Premier League defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal, according to The Times.
The Russian billionaire was at his club’s Cobham base for several hours and watched an entire session. He was reportedly keen to get to grips with what has been going wrong for new coach Antonio Conte and his players in recent weeks.
After the session, Abramovich avoided talking to the squad and had lunch with Conte in what is portrayed as being a show of support for the Italian boss.
The get-together is understood to have been an informal talk between Abramovich and his employee, and not a crisis meeting.
Chelsea have just one point from their past three games and have conceded seven goals over the course of those fixtures.
After a promising start in Conte’s first couple of games in charge, the mood at Stamford Bridge has soon dipped.
