The Premier League Vowel Deficiency Society has a new member after Blackburn Rovers snapped up French youngster Steven N’zonzi for an undisclosed fee. The 20-year-old joins from relegated Ligue 2 side Amiens.
N’zonzi will be close to fellow Frenchman Charles N’zogbia, who plays for Lancashire rivals Wigan. The duo will be able to get together and discuss the downsides of being encumbered with an n-apostrophe-z start to their surnames.
Aside from the name comparisons with N’zogbia, N’zonzi has been touted as the next Patrick Vieira 6.0. Difficult to see how he will fit into Sam Allardyce’s style of play then…
