Spurs investigate alleged Darren Bent Twitter rant
Striker turns the air blue with Tweets outlining his preferred destination
Tottenham have launched a probe into newspaper reports that Darren Bent launched a Twitter rant against chairman Daniel Levy. The Sun reported that Bent expressed his frustration at his drawn out transfer saga via the social networking site on an account that has since been deleted.
The Sun claims one of the Tweets said: “Do I wanna go Hull City NO. Do I wanna go Stoke NO. Do I wanna go Sunderland YES. So stop f*****g around, Levy.”
He previously wrote: “Why can’t anything be simple? It’s so frustrating hanging round doing jack s**t. Seriously getting p***ed off now. Sunderland are not the problem in the slightest.”
The 25-year-old is now the subject of an investigation by the club to see whether the Tweets were genuine. The Sun claims Bent’s sponsor, Umbro, has admitted that the England international was behind the rant.
