Marlon King jailed for sexual assault and sacked by Wigan
Latics striker locked up
Marlon King has been jailed for 18 months for sexually assaulting a woman in a London bar. The Wigan striker was found guilty of repeatedly groping a 20-year-old student and breaking her nose when she refused his advances.
The father-of-three has now been sacked by the Premier League side.
The incident happened at the Soho Revue Bar, in central London, last December when King was on-loan at Hull City. He was celebrating his wife’s pregnancy and scoring a winning goal against Middlesbrough.
King claimed that it was a case of mistaken identity and that he was not the assailant. But several witnesses testified that it was the 29-year-old who had groped and punched the victim.
