Uefa gives Steaua Bucharest’s Pantelis Kapetanos four-match ban for running punch

Steaua Bucharest forward Pantelis Kapetanos has been given a four-match European ban for a random punch on an opponent. The Greek player punched Napoli defender Fabiano Santacroce in the face in open play during last week’s Europa League clash.
Santacroce’s main offence seemed to be useless defending, as he stood around doing very little while a ball was played over the top. Not content to leave him trailing in his wake, Kapetanos gave him a swift jab to the snozzle on the way past and was sent-off.
He will be suspended for Liverpool’s trip to Romania on 2 December.
