Wolves manager Mick McCarthy on his visit to a psychologist
OTP noted that Mick McCarthy’s emotional rollercoaster during last Saturday’s defeat to Manchester United was all too apparent and made uncomfortable viewing at times. But the Wolves boss has reassured concerned hacks that he is not going loopy and that he has a sports therapist on hand should he feel the need.
And all this talk of psychology got Mick thinking about an encounter with a shrink when he joined French side Lyon in 1989.
He said: “We have a sports therapist. I was asked to see the psychologist when I went to Lyon. I came out with my arm around him, telling him not to worry! I was 30 with a mortgage, three kids, 400 league games and in a new country. I ended up coming out of there telling him not to worry. I didn’t see him again!”
Could be a nice little sideline for Mick.
