Dundee United’s David Goodwillie charged with rape
David Goodwillie has been charged with raping a woman in her home at a new year house party.
The unfortunately-named 21-year-old was out celebrating scoring the equaliser against Aberdeen on New Year’s Day. He later went to the flat of the 24-year-old alleged victim in Armadale, West Lothian, to continue partying.
The Scotland international had recently been linked with a move to Rangers.
A police spokesman said: “A 21-year-old man has been charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a 24-year-old woman on January 2.”
Dundee United teammate David Robertson, aged 24, was interviewed as a witness but has not been charged.
