Fulham announce plans for Michael Jackson statue at Craven Cottage
Jimmy Hill statue scrapped due to ‘chin complications’
Stoke City have their Stanley Matthews statue, Manchester United have their Matt Busby statue and Ipswich Town have their Bobby Robson statue (knights of the realm to a man). Now Fulham have decided to follow suit by announcing plans for a statue outside Craven Cottage to honour club great… Michael Jackson.
The King of Pop is set to prove it don’t matter if you played in black and white and get a statue in his honour. Cottagers owner Mohamed Al-Fayed is the driving force behind the plans.
He said: “I hope many fans of his will visit the statue from far and wide. And I hope that Fulham fans will appreciate seeing the finest performer in the world amongst them, the finest fans in the world.”
The statue will be officially unveiled before Fulham’s home game against Blackpool on April 3. It’s the way Jackson would have wanted it.
