Ricardo Fuller and Vedran Corluka both want to get their hands on Tottenham fans
Tempers frayed in the sunshine at White Hart Lane on Saturday, with players from both sides keen to get to grips with Tottenham fans. Stoke’s Ricardo Fuller grabbed a Spurs supporter who was giving him some verbal.
TV cameras just about caught the Fuller incident. You can see it here. While it doesn’t capture the alleged abuse that started the incident, it certainly shows the verbal that came afterwards!
Meanwhile, Tottenham full-back Vedran Corluka had to be held back as he attempted to confront a mouthy fan. Assistant manager Kevin Bond had to restrain the Croatian as he responded to being derided by his own fans for putting an injury-time free-kick out of play and presenting Stoke with the chance to grab an equaliser.
Corluka said: “I told one supporter he was an idiot. He was moaning during the match when he should have been supporting the team. I told him to support instead of criticising.”
That’s Corluka’s version of events anyway. The fan claims he screamed at him in Croatian “like a man possessed”.
