Barcelona overcome plane rat infestation to win El Clasico against Real Madrid
It might sounds like a dodgy Samuel L. Jackson sequel, but Barcelona had to beat rats on a plane before they could triumph over Real Madrid on Saturday evening.
Pep Guardiola’s team were held up when it emerged that an infestation of Madrid-based rats had boarded their plane. The rodents reportedly entered the aircraft from a hangar at Madrid’s Barajas airport. You wouldn’t put it past Jose Mourinho, would you?
The plane had to be fumigated throughout Friday night to get rid of the rats before the Barca squad could travel to the Spanish capital for the match.
It was worth it though as Barcelona ran out 3-1 winners in a pulsating encounter.
