Sean Dyche’s son set to outbid Newcastle for Watford’s Adrian Mariappa
Newcastle could find themselves in an unlikely bidding war with the son of Watford manager Sean Dyche.
That’s if the Hornets boss’ tongue-in-cheek comments about the Magpies’ offer for defender Adrian Mariappa are anything to go by.
Dyche has rejected a bid of £750,000 and an improved bid of £2m for the 25-year-old.
He said: “A bid has been made but it is nowhere near our valuation.
“My son’s got as much in his money box to buy him. Unfortunately you often get clubs offering nowhere near the valuation of players. They have their reasons.
“But we are not in a position where we have to rush out and sell anymore.”
