Video: Carlos Tevez holds up ‘RIP Fergie’ banner during Manchester City victory parade
Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has once again courted controversy after displaying a gravestone-style banner proclaiming ‘RIP Fergie’ during his side’s Premier League victory parade this evening.
During the open-top bus tour, the Argentine held aloft the jibe at his former manager.
While undeniably morbid, the banner is perhaps not quite as sinister as it seems.
It’s believed to be a City fan’s response to a famous Sir Alex Ferguson line. Asked in 2009 whether United would ever be underdogs to their neighbours, Fergie replied: “Not in my lifeline.”
Still, it didn’t really need to be handled by you, did it Carlos?
