Liverpool’s official TV channel accidentally break news that Luis Suarez has signed a new deal
Liverpool’s in-house TV channel left the Reds red-faced after jumping the gun with news of Luis Suarez’s new contract.
LFC TV broadcast that the Uruguayan had signed a “long-term contract“.
The channel reported: “Liverpool today confirmed Luis Suarez has signed a new long-term contract with the club. The Uruguayan forward has committed his future to the Reds by putting pen to paper on Tuesday afternoon.”
But the 60-second news report came to an abrupt end and was replaced by a ‘Temporary Fault’ graphic.
The news was presumably due to break either later this evening or tomorrow, but after the inadvertent leak the deal has now been confirmed by the club and reported elsewhere.
This episode shows that at least one person in the UK watches an in-house football club TV channel during the daytime and that these slots should not be used to test out future news.
