Bet’s be ‘avin you: Football betting tips for 19-21 October
A return to great profit last weekend, with £40 staked and £83.50 returned. Our treble won with ease and England’s 5-0 also covered. In fact, a 93rd minute goal conceded by Sheffield United cost us another £46. Lovely stuff. Back to domestic action this week, and another £40 to stake.
The first bet focuses on Friday night action in the Championship, where Sheffield Wednesday host Leeds. A simple bet really, because I’m backing Leeds for the win at 2/1. Given that Leeds have won four of their last five games and Sheffield Wednesday have lost seven of their last eight games in all competitions, such odds seem odd. The Championship is unpredictable, but I hope to have eked out some value there.
£10 on Leeds to beat Sheffield Wednesday gets you £30
The treble up next, and no playing around really. Manchester United are available at 1.33, which seems ridiculous as they will surely be victorious. The other two selections focus on FA Cup Qualifying, where Bradford PA and Macclesfield must be favourites to beat lower league opposition. The treble is available at over 2/1.
£20 on Bradford PA, Macclesfield and Manchester United gets you £63
A couple of first goalscorer bets to finish, and after Olivier Giroud grabbed an equaliser for France against Spain in midweek I suspect that his tail might be up. 5/1 is your beans on that one. Elsewhere, Sunday’s football sees Newcastle face Sunderland. My Geordie mates will be more than happy that I am banking on Shola Ameobi to score his ninth Tyne-Wear derby goal with the last goal of the game, which covers the risk that he may well start on the bench. Prices of 12/1 are, to coin a phrase, effing mental.
£5 on Olivier Giroud first scorer gets you £30
£5 on Shola Ameobi scoring last goal gets you £65
